Portasol gas soldering iron

Portable Gas Iron extends the limits of soldering.

Armed with the Oryx Portasol, unhindered by trailing leads or the need for power, short work can be made of many soldering tasks. The Portasol uses liquid gas as its heat source, held in a reservoir inside the iron and a patented catalytic converter provides the heating at the tip (no flame during soldering).

Temperature to a maximum 400øC. The Iron delivers power equivalent to 60W electric iron, so it can cope with full size jobs. It will run for one hour on its internal gas supply. Refilling takes seconds, and is identical to filling a gas cigarette lighter.

Comes complete with 3.2mm bit and protective cap, which also includes a lighter to start the catalytic conversion.
