Using the K2415, measurements can be made down to 0.1mA. To accurately measure these very low levels of current the transformer jaws are precisely constructed using superior materials. This allows accurate results even when electromagnetic disturbance is high, such as near cables or motors.

Both models have a frequency filter with which can help determine the cause of earth leakage. In the 'wide' position the unit will measure high frequency leakage currents through capacitive circuits such as those found in data processing systems.

In the '50/60Hz' position the unit will measure leakage currents arising from deterioration of insulation. Taking measurements in poorly lit environments is easy with the data hold facility featured on both models. Model K2413 is equipped with a pre-selectable peak hold facility which is suitable for detecting intermittent fluctuations.

The KMP4120 is the only loop tester available which allows the user to perform a loop test without tripping passive RCDs. This unique patented feature means that testing can take place without disrupting the supply and thus avoiding the potentially hazardous practice of 'bridging out' the RCD.

All models are suitable for measuring earth fault loop impedance at the origin (Ze) and at various points throughout the installation (zs). When using the external earth probe, it is possible to measure the phase to earth loop impedance of exposed metalwork such as conduits.

PSC Reading
On circuits with less than 50 models KMP4118 and 4120 give a direct readout of PSC and each fault currents. The 3 pre-selectable ranges are power factor corrected in accordance with the Electricity Association Document P25.
